Stage 1: Pre-production
Pre-production refers to everything that happens before an interview is conducted or video is recorded.
Pre-production is actually where you’ll find the highest-leverage changes to your approach. It includes:
- Packaging
- Guest selection
- Interview
- preparation
- …and more
Stage 2: Production
Production is the actual “performance” of your video. I’ll cover my unique approach as an interviewer so that you have more comfortable, productive, and transparent conversations.
In this section, we’ll also share our recommendations for gear and setting up your studio environment.
Stage 3: Post-production
Post-production is everything once recording is complete. We’ll cover our strategy for editing and completing the package for the video to maximize it’s opportunity to get more views.
Most podcasters tend to overemphasize production while underemphasizing pre- and post-production. This is a big mistake.
