Who Am I?

I’m Johnathan Grzybowski—a husband, father, and entrepreneur who believes the work you build should never come at the expense of the people you build it for.

I’m the co-founder of Penji, a global creative services company that I helped bootstrap from the ground up. Penji was built by challenging traditional agency models—making high-quality creative talent more accessible, predictable, and human for businesses around the world.

What started as an experiment turned into a company trusted by thousands of businesses, recognized on the Inc. 5000, and scaled without sacrificing transparency, people, or family.

But Free Ideas isn’t about Penji alone.

It’s about everything I learned building it—and everything I wish more founders talked about while they were still in the process.

Why I’m Doing This

I didn’t start Free Ideas to teach.

I started it to document.

After selling my first startup, then building and selling a community business, I realized most advice is shared after the fact, once the mess has been cleaned up and the story sounds simpler than it was.

Free Ideas is me choosing a different path:

  • To share ideas while they’re being tested
  • To show numbers when context actually matters
  • To talk openly about mistakes, constraints, and trade-offs
  • To build in public without turning life into a performance

This isn’t branding.

It’s a record.
