Many brands and companies are now encouraged to create their own website. Yet, many people think that it’s still a complex process and that only professionals can do the job. Fortunately, there are website hosting platforms that make the task easy. And it allows non-programmers to start a website from scratch. One of the most popular websites is BlueHost. Some say that this is the best in the market. But of course, we were a bit skeptical. Hence, our own comprehensive BlueHost Review.
Bluehost is a web hosting solutions company that was started in 2003 by Matt Heaton and Danny Ashworth. The company is based in Orem, Utah, and is servicing more than 2 million websites worldwide. You can get your domain names and even dedicated servers from them.
To date, they have more than 750 employees supporting their customers 24/7.

BlueHost is highly recommended by WordPress. Thus, if you are currently using WordPress, you are sure to get amazing features and tools with BlueHost.
BlueHost Plans and Pricing
BlueHost has various plans available for you. These plans include a free domain for a year, instant WordPress installation, and automated updates and backups. Plus, it gives unlimited bandwidth and, of course, round-the-clock customer support. Check out their offerings and see which ones your business needs.
Consider this as the entryway to get your website up and running. If you just need a basic suite and will manage one site, they have a plan for $2.65 per month. As you require more features and need to manage more sites, they have other higher-tiered plans as well
If you are to venture into e-commerce, you can set up your online store for only $9.95 per month. However, if you want to easily scale your virtual store, then getting the Premium is a better solution. This plan will cost you $24.95 per month.
Lastly, we have Managed WordPress. It ensures a lightning-fast speed website, added marketing plugins and tools, plus several layers of backup and security. They have different sub-plans, which start at $9.95 per month.
Take note that BlueHost offers Virtual Private Servers and Dedicated Servers for clients with complex and huge needs.
Looking at their price range as a whole, we can say that BlueHost has one of the reasonable rates in the market.
Drag-and-Drop Site Builder
Creating your website with BlueHost is easy too. This is ideal if you are not knowledgeable about HTML and CSS. However, this feature is not exclusive to BlueHost. Other providers offer the same as well, so we can’t really categorize this one as their unique selling point.
Hackers get more sophisticated every minute. If you do not protect your website, it could be in great danger. But with BlueHost, you can ensure that your sites are safe and secure. Apart from the security, you can also back up your sites. That’s important because you wouldn’t want to start from scratch when your website gets hacked, would you?
You need to pay add-ons for such features, which is, of course, understandable.
The basic plan does not have huge storage compared to BlueHost’s competitors. Yet again, if you are not going to scale in the next few months or years, this is acceptable. Otherwise, you can upgrade your plans to enjoy bigger storage.
As for the uptime results, we were impressed with what you can get from BlueHost. Of course, we cannot say that it will be 100% up and running. That’s too much of an expectation as all hosting companies will have downtime for different reasons. For example, there could be server maintenance. So we always need to give them a reasonable allowance.
Do we think BlueHost is leading in terms of speed? No.
Other hosting services surpass what BlueHost can do. But this doesn’t mean that they are bad. It’s decent enough for ordinary end-users but can be quite a turn-off if you are particular about speed.
BlueHost Refund Policy
There’s no need to worry if you are still unsure if BlueHost is for you. After all, they have a 30-day money-back policy if you are not satisfied with what you are getting. You’d get a refund – no questions asked. This was a good thing for us while we were doing our BlueHost review.
BlueSky, Have an Expert by Your Side
One of the best features that we enjoy with BlueHost is their Blue Sky. It’s basically your own consultant that can help you build and grow your website.
In today’s age, we all understand that competition in the digital area is quite tough. While it’s possible to create your own website, the real question is, would it work? Is your market going to see and appreciate it? This is where Blue Sky could be beneficial. With this, you have an expert giving you the best approach for your websites.
You can choose from their Basic, Plus, and Pro plans available at $29/month, $49/month, and $149/month, respectively.
What We Don’t Like About BlueHost
Naturally, companies would like to get a profit, and BlueHost is no exemption. Thus, you will notice that they can be pretty aggressive with their upsell proposals. If you are a basic user, this could be annoying at first. But of course, you’d get used to it eventually.
While the features are great, you need to install most of them to enjoy its full functionality. For those who do not have the luxury of time to go technical, this might not sit well.
Should You Use BlueHost?
Let’s now have a verdict for our BlueHost review.
We recommend BlueHost for small and medium enterprises that would like to have an online presence. In this BlueHost review, you’ll find out that it is easy to use and is considered an industry leader. Thus, you can expect decent support whenever you need it. With all their features, we can say that they are a one-stop shop. Everything you need can be provided or integrated with BlueHost.
However, if we are to talk about creating bigger websites, there are other alternatives that you can try out as well. You have GoDaddy Hosting, A2 Hosting, and InMotion, to name a few.
